About
I am an applied ecologist broadly interested in the consequence of environmental change on species, communities and ecosystems. My research focuses on (a) the individual and combined effects of climate and land-use change on species persistence, particularly in wetland systems, (b) the potential role of microclimates in acting as a refuge for species in warmer and particularly drier world, (c) the extent to which habitat and ecosystem management can offset the effects of environmental change and (d) the development of conservation strategies that help species cope with climate and land-use change. Where possible, I aim to gain a holistic understanding of environmental problems by engaging with policy-makers and researchers in other disciplines. I also aim to find practical solutions to the environmental problems.
